How Salma Hayek Pulled Off a Cannes Mariachi Stunt

The actress coordinated a Mexican sing-along surprise to close the festival's 70th anniversary gala dinner.

It took a determined Salma Hayek just a few hours to coordinate a Mexican sing-along surprise to close the May 23 Cannes 70th anniversary gala dinner. Crazy Rich Asians movie, set in Singapore, 'will make history': Author Kevin Kwan

Bestselling author Kevin Kwan doesn’t write about rich Asian people – he writes about crazy rich Asian people.

the biggest deal for Kwan is that Crazy Rich Asians is being made into a Hollywood romantic comedy with an all-Asian cast. The last major US release to do that was The Joy Luck Club, a heart-tugging family drama from 1993.
A few days after launching his latest novel in the United States, Kwan jetted over to Malaysia, where the actors were filming on set late this month.
“It’s going brilliantly,” Kwan says by phone from Kuala Lumpur. “It’s an amazing team. It’s surreal to be here and see the book come to life.”
Sounding a bit star-struck, he adds: “Michelle Yeoh is here. I’ve been watching her movies since I was a kid – I’ve admired her for so long. She’s a legend, and she brings so much to the role of Eleanor. She was my ultimate wish when I first spoke to the producer.”

Honest Trailers - Catwoman

Adam Wingard To Direct Godzilla Vs Kong

While the Godzilla sequel is only just now cranking into production, Legendary and Warner Bros. are wasting no time in locking down a director to make the next monster movie. The Guest's Adam Wingard will oversee Godzilla Vs. Kong.
In what has been a growing pattern of the monster movies (and other creature features) plucking directors from the lower budget world to try their hand at huge scale (in every sense of the word) projects. Wingard, who also made films such as You're Next and last year's Blair Witch reboot, will now develop the film, working from a blueprint laid down by Pirates Of The Caribbean veteran Terry Rossio, who oversaw a writers room that featured the likes of J. Michael Straczynski, TS Nowlin and duo Patrick McKay and JD Payne.
